Technical Data for Fiber Optic Connectors

  • Material: Housing Material: Plastic, Metal, Nickel Plated
    • Sleeve: Phosphor-Bronze; Ceramic
    • Spring Plate: Steel, Stainless Steel
  • Continuous Operating Temperature: -40°C to +80°C
  • Ferrule Type: Zirconia Ceramic, pre-Radiuses, Ceramic
  • Fiber Cables Type: Jacketed, Buffered.

Features of Fiber Optic Connectors

  • The Fiber Ferrule: A thin structure (often cylindrical) that actually holds the glass fiber. Ferrules are usually made from ceramic, metal, or high-quality plastic, and typically will hold one strand of fiber.
  • The Connector Assembly Body: A plastic or metal structure that holds the ferrule and attaches to the jacket and strengthens members of the fiber cable itself.
  • Coupling Mechanism: A part of the connector body that holds the connector in place when it gets attached to another. It may be a latch clip, a bayonet-style nut, or similar device.
  • The Fiber Cable: Fiber Cable crimped onto the connector sub assembly body with a crimp eyelet. Provide strength for mechanical handing of the connector without putting stress on the fiber itself.
  • The Stress Relief Boot: Stress relief boot covers the joint between connector body and fiber cable and protects fiber cable from mechanical damage.

Benefits of Fiber Optic Connectors

  • FC/PC Connectors for single mode fiber optic cables.
  • Provides very accurate positioning of the single-mode fiber optic cable with respect to transmitter (optical source) or the receiver (optical detector).
  • SC Connectors mainly used with single-mode fiber optic cables. Available in Simplex and Duplex styles.
  • The connector is simple low cost and reliable. The location and alignment is provided using a ceramic ferrule. It also has a locking tab to enable it to be mated and removed without fear of it accidentally falling loose.
  • Plastic Fiber Optic Cable Connectors are used with plastic fiber optic cabling.
  • ST Connectors utilizes a bayonet twist lock connection with ferrule. Available in Single mode and multimode.
  • The LC connector provides a pull-proof design and small size perfect for high-density applications.
  • MPT Connector is a MPO compatible connector that provides quick and reliable connection.
